The company Karmel has started the construction of a new production complex in Khmelnytskyi, where equipment for concrete batching plants will be manufactured.
The start of the work was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development, Dmytro Kysylevskyi, as conveyed by «Kommersant Ukrainian».
According to him, the company has already purchased a land plot on the outskirts of the city, where preparatory earthworks have begun.
Investments and project scale
The planned investment volume is about 10 million dollars.
Main parameters of the future enterprise:
- production complex area — 18 thousand sq. m
- this is twice as large as the company’s current plant in Khmelnytskyi
- the new enterprise will allow tripling production capacity
Currently, the enterprise manufactures about 40 concrete batching plants per year, of which 30% are exported.
What products the company manufactures
In addition to stationary and mobile concrete batching plants, the enterprise produces:
- cement silos
- cement dosing units
- aggregate storage bins
- water towers
- portal cranes
According to the parliamentarian, more than 600 concrete batching plants in Ukraine operate on equipment from the Khmelnytskyi manufacturer.
New production directions
The new plant is expected to expand the product range. In particular, production is planned for:
- self-propelled concrete batching plants
- waste processing lines
The average level of production localization is about 70%, which means a significant share of Ukrainian components.
State support programs
Part of the company’s products is sold with the participation of state support programs for manufacturers within the Made in Ukraine policy.
In particular:
- equipment for concrete batching plants falls under a 15% compensation of the cost of Ukrainian machinery
- some buyers use grants for processing up to 8 million UAH
The company is also considering the possibility of including its silos in the 25% compensation program for agricultural machinery manufacturing.
Demand for construction equipment is growing
The company decided to expand production due to growing demand both in Ukraine and abroad. Among the key export markets are the USA.
Against the backdrop of preparation for large-scale reconstruction of the country, other investment projects are also emerging in the construction sector in Ukraine.
For example:
- the German company Calmit GmbH plans to build a plant in Zakarpattia;
- an industrial consortium led by Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH is considering the construction of a precast concrete enterprise in Kharkiv.
